Dante Alighieri, exiled from Florence, found refuge in Ravenna, where he wrote part of Purgatory and Paradise, and here he died on 13 September 1321. Every year the city of Ravenna, his last home for a short period of time, pays tribute to the Supreme Poet with a rich program that, from the end of August to the beginning of December, celebrates his figure and his poetics.

With a crescendo of energies that already prefigures the days of the VII Centenary of his death that will fall in 2021, Viva Dante offers a calendar of almost one hundred appointments that are addressed to every type of public with scientific insights and participatory and confrontational opportunities.

Emblematic in this sense is the Annual, opening of the celebrations in the sign of the commemoration of the death of Dante, who by tradition is on the second Sunday of September, marked by the Ceremony of the gift of oil by the Municipality of Florence.

The following calendar is the result of the commitment of many different subjects, who together seek and present the thousand facets of the ever-present Dante work.
