A bike tour to discover a magical valley: the Valmarecchia and specifically the upper part. An experience on two routes with a guide to know places, history and traditions along the most beautiful and less traveled roads of our province.
This part of Valmarecchia is the kingdom of majestic manors such as the impregnable fort of San Leo where the view stretches from Montefeltro to the sea, which hosted Dante, San Francesco and imprisoned for life Count Cagliostro. It is the place of the soul told by Tonino Guerra, citizen of Pennabilli, screenwriter of the films of Fellini and Antonioni. From Torriana you can see the sea and the rocky spur of Saiano that houses the sanctuary of the Madonna di Saiano that can only be reached on foot.
Not far from there is Verucchio, where there is one of the most grandiose and powerful fortresses in the valley, which was home to the powerful Malatesta Lordship. Talamello is the nerve centre of the fossa cheese that is produced here, is eaten in local restaurants and is celebrated in autumn with festivals and events. Going towards the Apennines you will find Sant'Agata Feltria, the town of the precious white truffle. When you go down to the valley you will find Santarcangelo, the city with a double noble and popular soul: romantic and artistic city with a beautiful village with a Malatestiana fortress, located on the Via Emilia, built on what the Romans called "Mons Jovis". Ancient city and at the same time cosmopolitan thanks to its many popular and cultural events. And still other villages and castles...
