Independent arrival in Piacenza and meeting with the tour guide in Piazza Cittadella.
The guided tour will take you on a discovery of Piacenza's historical centre - dotted with precious Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical churches and buildings.
The itinerary will start with the exterior and courtyard of Palazzo Farnese, designed by Vignola for Margaret of Austria in the 16th century. It will continue with Piazza Cavalli, the heart of the city.
On the ancient Piazza Grande you can admire the 13th century Gothic Palace (exterior) and the magnificent Mochi equestrian monuments, masterpieces of the Baroque era. The visit will also take in the Romanesque Cathedral of the Assumption where the Formelle dei Paratici (medieval guilds) and the dome frescoed by Guercino in 1627 are housed.
If time remains, stop at Piazza Sant'Antonino and the Basilica of the same name.
