Bellaria shopping tour
Shopping holidays
Walking along the tree-lined avenues illuminated by the shopping venues of the town is always a pleasure. Far from the traffic, the pedestrian areas with plenty of fashion shops, typical and trendy clubs, restaurants, pubs, artisan ice-cream parlours and local markets complete the commercial offer of Bellaria Igea Marina and add even more value to its tourist, welcoming soul.
Isola dei Platani (Island of the Plane Trees)
Among all the municipalities of the Adriatic Coast, Bellaria Igea Marina pioneered in understanding the importance of providing citizens and tourists with the chance of relaxing and feeling safe while having a walk. Viale Paolo Guidi, the central avenue of the town, is now a car-free pedestrian area with greenery and flowerbeds everywhere, after relevant urban regeneration works which were completed in the late 80s. It is the best choice for having a walk and shopping and you will find fashion shops, typical and trendy clubs, restaurants, pubs and artisan ice-cream parlours. In the Isola dei Platani you will also find a building from the early 1900s. This building, which was the first location of the Bellaria Igea Marina town hall, now houses the Municipal Library, dedicated to the writer Alfredo Panzini, and the Astra Theatre, the cultural heart of the town.
Street markets and local markets
The pedestrian areas of the town centre accommodate street markets and local markets during the spring and the summer. These are the best places to look for an unusual souvenir, an ethnic artefact, handicrafts or genuine products of our region, which you can directly buy from the producers themselves.
Whether it’s clothing, accessories, gifts, fancy goods or toys, along the tree-lines avenues of Bellaria Igea Marina you won’t resist the temptation of buying something useful… or useless.
