Ground ways: the Po delta by bike

Bike is the perfect way to explore and fully live the nature and landscapes of the Po Delta.

Starting from the small village of Goro, you can get through cycles routes sourranded by the delta natural enviroment: you can go along the river toward the sea, taking a close look at the many delta's animal species, or riding alongside the lagoon during sunset, a breathtaking panorama between earth and sea.

GORO – VOLANO ROUTE
The route starts from the enchanting tourist port of Goro and goes along the Sacca di Goro, one of the largest brackish lagoons of Northen Adriatic and ideal place for claim fishing.

During the way you can enjoy the sea and countryside with its historical hydraulic structures, proofs of the centuries-old struggle between man and enviroment. The Palù Tower and the Chiavica del Bosco (both built during XVIIIth century) facilitated the runoff of water to the sea and prevent the scent of water at high tide.

Going on to Volano you pass the Gran Bosco della Mesola, a 1058 hectares natural reserve best known for its Deer of the Dunes.

At the end of the route you arrive at Taglio della Falce and the small Canneviè Oasis. From here you can continue to Lido di Volano.

DESTRA PO ROUTE
The Destra Po is a suggestive cycleway of 125 km along the right enbankment of the Po river, which goes to Stellata di Bondeno to Gorino Ferrarse.

The last part of this long path leads the river directly to the sea.

It starts from Goro and runs through the delta enviroment, in which you can find the Valle Dindona Oasis, a very interesting point for birdwatchers, and finally the last stop in Gorino Ferrarese.

The hamlet of Gorino, only established since 1870 on the most recent patch of emerged land from the Delta, is the final inhabitated outpost before the sea, with the last floating bridge ferry left on the river, connecting Gorino to the Venetian bank.

A wide enviroment of rushes leads to the river’s mouth where you can find the Goro Lighthouse.

If you want to continue the travel by water ways, a lot of boats seal from the Gorino’s port.
